Bindaas / Stay safe / Spot fake loan apps
Fraud awareness

If it asks for money first, it's not a loan.

A public-service page. The rules below apply to every lender, not just us.

A legitimate lender never takes an advance fee.

Red flags of a fake app

  • No named NBFC or bank behind the app
  • Asks for access to your contacts or gallery
  • No physical address, no CIN, no company detail
  • Claims to be an "RBI approved app". RBI registers entities, not apps
  • Pressure tactics, countdowns, or instant threats
  • An APK shared over WhatsApp instead of an app store

FAQ

Fraud, answered

A registered lender may not harass you. No calls outside 8:00 to 20:00, no contacting your family or references to shame you, and no threats. If it happens in our name, report it to us and to the RBI Ombudsman.

Act fast. Tell your bank to block any transaction, change your passwords, and report at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. Then write to safety@bindaas.in so we can help and flag the fraud.

RBI does not approve apps or brands. What matters is that our lending partners are RBI-registered NBFCs, which you can verify on the RBI website. Be wary of any app that claims to be "RBI approved", because that phrase does not exist.
